Seth Smith, Max Browne and Sam Darnold

**  Seth Smith plays baseball for the Seattle Mariners.  Seattle is Smith’s fourth MLB organization.
**  In college Smith played both baseball and football at Mississippi.  He was a right fielder for the Rebels from 2002 to 2004.  He was also the backup quarterback for Eli Manning from 2001 to 2003.
**  As a football player at Ole Miss, he never took a single snap in three years!

**  Southern California coach Clay Helton was unable to decide on a starting quarterback in spring practice.  The competition will continue in the fall.  The top contenders are junior Max Browne and redshirt freshman Sam Darnold.
**  Browne and Darnold are close friends.  Whoever gets the job will replace the graduated
Cody Kessler.
**  U.S.C. returns its top five receivers and a pair of 900-yard rushers from last season.  One of the pass-catchers is JuJu Smith-Schuster, who had 1,454 receiving yards on 89 catches and 10 touchdowns in 2015.  He says either quarterback “can get the job done.”
