West Virginia 43, Arizona State 42
*This was the only bowl game decided by a point, and it was one of the most entertaining games of the entire bowl season.
*In a contest that featured almost 1200 yards of total offense and over 50 first downs, it was a defensive stand that was decisive. Down by a point and needing only about 20 yards to reach field goal range, Arizona State was stopped right at midfield by the West Virginia defense.
Sun Devil quarterback Mike Bercovici threw incomplete four straight times with less than two minutes to go.
