One-Point FBS Games in 2015: September

**  In 2015 there were 22 one-point games involving FBS teams.  Two of them were wins by FCS teams.

**  Today we take a brief look at the games from September that ended in one-point decisions.

Thursday, September 3, 2015
Florida International 15, Central Florida 14
*F.I.U.’s Imarjaye Albury blocked freshman Matthew Wright’s 47-yard field goal attempt with :25 left to preserve the upset.
*U.C.F. never came closer to a win, finishing the season 0-12.
*The rematch is September 24 at F.I.U.

Indiana 48, Southern Illinois 47
*The Salukis led 32-21 at the half and scored on a Mark Iannoti 25-yard pass to Jimmy Jones with :24 to play to cut their deficit to one but failed on a two-point conversion attempt.

Furman 16, Central Florida 15
*Sophomore kicker Jon Croft Hollingsworth’s school-record 55-yard field goal in the fourth quarter gave the Paladins the one-point lead and their defense made it stand up.
*U.C.F. lost by a point for the second time in three games and would be the only FBS school to drop two one-point games in 2015.

California 45, Texas 44
*Senior kicker Nick Rose missed what would have been the tying PAT with 1:11 to go.  Cal’s Darius White was not credited with a block but insisted he touched the ball, which went wide right.
*The Longhorns play at California on September 17 in 2016.

U.C.L.A. 24, Brigham Young 23
*With freshman quarterback Josh Rosen struggling, U.C.L.A. ‘s Paul Perkins and Nate Starks combined to run for 300 yards on 33 carries.
*U.C.L.A. plays at B.Y.U. on September 17 this coming season.

Florida 28, Tennessee 27
*On 4th and 14 with 1:26 to play Will Grier hit freshman Antonio Callaway on a deep curl, and Callaway turned it into a game-winning 63-yard touchdown.
*Tennessee kicker Aaron Medley missed a 55-yard field goal that would’ve won the game with three ticks left on the clock.  It was wide right by less than a foot.
