**  Updates for yesterday’s list of underclassmen declaring for the NFL draft in April…
.         Baylor                Xavien Howard               Cornerback
.         Mississippi        Laremy Tunsil                 Offensive Lineman
.         Ohio State         Eli Apple                          Cornerback
.                ”                   Jalin Marshall                 Wide Receiver
**  Both Apple and Marshall are redshirt sophomores.  Left tackle Tunsil was twice an                   All-American and three times All-SEC.

**  Purdue quarterback Austin Appleby is transferring to Florida.
**  Former Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight is headed to Texas A&M.
**  As graduate transfers, both young men will be eligible to play right away next fall.
**  Knight sees Texas A&M as a great opportunity for him, with five-star quarterbacks Kyle Allen and Kyler Murray having transferred to other schools.  And even their replacement, Bram Kohlhausen, is out of eligibility.
**   Allen will likely land at Houston.  Murray is going to Oklahoma.

**  Oregon coach Mark Helfrich is demoting Don Pellum from defensive coordinator to linebackers coach.  The school will begin a search for a new DC immediately.
**  Oregon outside linebackers coach Erik Chinander will become defensive coordinator at Central Florida.  The Knights hired Oregon offensive coordinator Scott Frost to be their new coach last month.

**  The NFL’s Cleveland Browns, Philadelphia Eagles and San Francisco 49ers all have head coaching openings.  Nick Saban’s name consistently comes up at times like these.  He’s not about to leave Alabama.
**  Other rumored possibilities are Jim Mora of U.C.L.A. and Kevin Sumlin of Texas A&M.   Mora has denied interest in any other jobs besides the one he has, saying he wouldn’t even interview.  Sumlin has no NFL coaching experience and it seems unlikely to coforepr that an NFL team would take a chance on him.  He recently received a vote of confidence from Texas A&M.  There are conflicting reports on whether he’s interesting in pursuing NFL employment.
