News from over Christmas

**  Ball State coach Pete Lembo resigned to become special teams coordinator at Maryland on new coach D.J. Durkin’s staff.

**  Texas A&M transfer Kyler Murray is going to Oklahoma.  He’ll have to sit out the 2016 season, per NCAA transfer rules.  Baker Mayfield will be a senior in 2016, meaning Murray could take over the quarterback duties for the Sooners in 2017.

**  Ty Detmer will be the offensive coordinator at Brigham Young next season.  He won a Heisman Trophy playing quarterback at B.Y.U. in 1990 and has been coaching high school in Texas since 2009.
**  Ilaisa Tuiaki will be the defensive coordinator.  He was at Oregon State this year as linebackers and special teams coach, where new B.Y.U. head coach Kalani Sitake was defensive coordinator.

**  New Rutgers coach Chris Ash has hired A.J. Blazek, 37, to coach the offensive line.  Blazek was an offensive lineman himself at Iowa and has coached offensive line and coordinated the run game at Western Illinois (FCS) for the last three seasons.
